APEC Viet Nam 2006

Hanoi City is hosting APEC (Asia Pacific Economic Co-operation) this year.  The leaders week starts on Nov 12 but that city is obviously gearing up. Yesterday we were outside the Sheraton Hotel.  While we were waiting for someone we saw dozens of special police arrive and station themselves outside the gates. But they weren't just ordinary police. These guys had big guns.  Scary!

 

The theme of this year's meeting is:
  "Towards a Dynamic Community for Sustainable Development  and Prosperity"
Not sure how this is different from any other year but hey......
